Open standards are key to interoperability for supporting information exchange and collaboration in BIM and GIS. The Hong Kong Alliance of Built Asset & Environment Information Management Associations (HKABAEIMA) and the Hong Kong Chapter of buildingSMART International are launching the Hong Kong openBIM/openGIS Awards 2024 this year, to recognize best practices and innovations of openBIM and/or openGIS applications in project delivery and/or lifecycle asset management in the built asset industry in Hong Kong. Renowned experts in both local and global arena will serve as judging panel members. There are three categories of submission: (1) Project Category; (2) Research Category, and (3) Technology Category.
The submission deadline is HKT 5pm on 22 March 2024 (Friday). Interested teams need to register online before HKT 5pm on 8 March 2024 (Friday).

Hong Kong Institute of Civil and Building Information Management (HKICBIM) is a newly formed institute which provides an informative platform for civil and building counterparts to network and exchange civil Building Information Modeling (BIM) knowledge. HKICBIM aims to foster technological innovation and accelerate the adoption of Civil and Building Information Modeling Management in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC) industry.
The Articles and By-Laws set out the HKICBIM objectives of establishment, grades of membership, structure and management, professional conduct, and other rules relevant to conduct the affairs of HKICBIM. In addition, the By-Laws may be revised and supplemented periodically as and when necessary.
